Catch and Release
Oil on board, 12x24, Gold floater frame
Summer storms can be loud, dark, fast and furious.
After this one I took the dog for a walk when the sun peaked out and signaled that it was safe to go outside.
Storms come into our lives. Some last longer than others. The good news is, they will pass, and the light will return.
As humans we experience the roller coaster of emotion.
Some good.
Some bad.
In my lifetime I know I’ve held onto some storms longer than I needed to. Punishing myself for staying in the dark.
It took me many years to learn to listen to my body, feel the emotions, let them go and move into the light.
I have so much gratitude for nature, and its ability to catch and release, and move on.
“Everybody got their reason
Everybody got their way
Were just catching and releasing what builds up throughout the day
It gets into your body
And flows right through your blood
We can tell each other secrets
And remember how to love”
