Love of My Life

We named you Emily Grace.  Daddy picked your first name, because he always liked it.  And Grace was my beloved great- grandmothers name.
You came into the world fast!  And singing loud for all to hear!
“From the moment I first saw you
The second that you were born
I knew that you were the love of my life”
Your tiny little pink cheeks, delicate button nose, and soft silky hair.  I inspected you from head to toe and wrapped you tightly when we first met.
Your big sister Allison was sitting in the waiting room with grandpop waiting to meet you.
I can still remember the look on her face when she saw you for the first time in the bassinet.  Her tiny little feet climbed up on the chair next to you.  She placed her best friend, Snowy, by you’re to side.   She giggled and scrunched up her nose with excitement as she watched you squirm around.
We were doubly blessed that morning – two daughters.  Witnessing sisters meeting for the first time.  We hit the lottery!

Sidenote:  Emily really loved this piece as it was being painted.  Little did she know the story would be about the first time we met.
